“I’m thrilled that Lotus has given me the opportunity to race in the Indy 500, which is something I have always had the ambition to do. I’ve been watching all the races and training hard, and I’m taking it extremely seriously. Ovals are new to me, but as a professional racing driver I can pick things up quickly and adapt. It’s going to be the most wonderful challenge—I’ve never lost the need, and I don’t think I’ve lost the speed!”
